Healthyway fraud mastermind arrested

The Chandigarh Police today arrested the mastermind in the case of fraud involving Healthyway Immigrations,Varun Gupta,a chartered accountant.

The Chandigarh Police today arrested the mastermind in the case of fraud involving Healthyway Immigrations,Varun Gupta,a chartered accountant. According to the special investigation team (SIT) Varun has confessed to his involvement in forging bank documents.

DSP Anil Joshi said Gupta,a resident of Sector 45 also runs his own immigration firm called Globals Consultancy Group in Sector 20. Also,he used to operate from his residence as a chartered accountant under the name of ‘Varun and associates in Sector 45.

Moreover,the Police is also examining the role of certain bank employees who were named by Gupta for having connived with him. He is the mastermind behind the fraud and had forged bank documents. After Amit Kakkar had disclosed Guptas involvement in the case,we arrested him tonight DSP Anil Joshi told Newsline. Police also said that Gupta has agents across Ambala,Jagadhri and other places in Punjab whose roles are under scanner.

According to police,the accused forged documents to show fixed deposits in the bank accounts of their clients while processing visa applications. Police have recovered 197 forged bank documents till now from the office of prime accused Amit Kakkar. The immigration firm is in the dock for duping several clients on fake promises of sending them abroad.
