In a relief for Sri Sri Ravi Shankar, the Punjab and Haryana High Court today quashed a private complaint filed against him in a cheque bounce case.

Sri Sri Ravi Shankar had moved the High Court through his counsel, senior lawyer M L Sarin, challenging the summoning orders issued by a Mohali Court about a fortnight ago.

The summoning orders were issued by the Mohali Court against seven persons, including Sri Sri Shankar,on a complaint filed under Section 138 of the Negotiable Instruments Act.

The court had also fixed October 3 as the next date of hearing in the case.

The warrants were issued after the complainants, including a tent house owner, alleged non-payment of their dues for their role in making arrangements for a satsang.

Demanding quashing of the complaint and summons,Sri Sri Ravi Shankar’s counsel had contended that he (Sri Sri) had nothing to do with organising the event as the entire exercise of making the arrangements was carried out by an events management company.
