Govt sends panel for SSP’s post

Putting an end to the lobbying in the state for the post of UT senior superintendent of police,the Punjab government on Thursday sent a panel of three officers to the Chandigarh Administration.

Putting an end to the lobbying in the state for the post of UT senior superintendent of police,the Punjab government on Thursday sent a panel of three officers to the Chandigarh Administration.

Sources said,the state home department dispatched a letter to the Chandigarh Administration sending names of three IPS officers for the post of UT SSP,all the three officers are from the 1997 batch. They are Naunihal Singh,presently posted as SSP Sangrur,R K Jaiswal presently posted as Assistant Inspector General of Police (Intelligence) at the Punjab Police Headquarters and Arun Pal,posted as Commandant of the 7th Battalion of Punjab Armed Police in Jalandhar.

Principal Secretary (Home),Punjab A R Talwar confirmed this.

Prior to Sangrur,Naunihal was posted as SSP of Khanna,Mohali,Bathinda and Jalandhar. While Jaiswal has been posted as SSP of Jagroan,Ludhiana and Jalandhar,Arun Pal has been SSP of Khanna,Sangrur,Kapurthala and SBS Nagar.

The tenure of present SSP S Srivastva ends in September this year. The administration had been sending reminders to the Punjab government to send a panel for the post of SSP.
