This September,Kapoor will bring Julia Roberts’ character in Stepmom to life in Karan Johar’s adaptation of the same,titled We Are Family. “I haven’t seen the original but I have heard it is a great film. I have always tried different roles to evolve as an actor,” she says. “If you have success,then you shouldn’t be scared of failure,” she adds.

Her pedigree is an asset in Bollywood,something that comes handy as a stepping stone. “The name is more of a pressure,and you end up fighting comparisons. There is not much in a name,it’s the talent that counts,” says Kapoor. “Our family is strong,protective while being contemporary. My father Randhir Kapoor,who feels that everyone should be in some profession,gave full support. Her sister Karisma,who has just had her second child,“is waiting for the right role,” says Kapoor,who doesn’t mind starring in ads with beau Saif Ali Khan. “I am very comfortable with him,” she says.
