Former councillor’s son assaults cop

Son of former municipal councilor Seema Chaudhury allegedly assaulted a policeman posted in the Sector-14 police station late on Friday evening.

Accused Karan Chaudhary allegedly assaulted Sagar,a computer operator,with sharp-edged weapons,causing him grave injuries,the police said. Sagar had gone to meet his friends Kapil and Vikas Datta when Karan along with three other boys attacked him.

Sagar was rushed to General Hospital in Sector 6,where doctors referred him to Government Medical College and Hospital,Sector 32.

Karan is absconding. The police have registered a case under Section 307 of the IPC.
