Women are set to take centrestage on Max this July. The premium movies and special events channel is brining Max Ladies Only Shringar Mela presented by Kurkure. The on-ground carnival coincides with the Ladies Only film festival to be showcased on the channel for a period of two weeks beginning,Monday-Friday at 12 noon. Its a unique initiative designed to bring to the women viewers a cheerful blend of movies and events. In Chandigarh,the Ladies Only carnival called Shringar Mela will have a repertoire of stalls,artistic mehendi and tattoos to decorate your hands,paints to bring colour to your nails,sparkle and shine with artificial jewellery,opportunities to participate in innovative competitions from bridal make-up to designing bindis to quizzes on Bollywood films. Speaking on the occasion,Gaurav Seth,VP – Marketing,MAX,said,Chandigarh has always been an integral part of our overall programming and marketing strategy. Recent reports garnered during season 2 of the DLF Indian Premier League (IPL) showed substantial increase in viewership for Max in Chandigarh. Through the Shringar Mela,we hope to create direct touch points with our viewers and give them the ultimate Max experience. More such initiatives for Chandigarh are also in the pipeline. While one can pamper oneself at the Shringar Mela,back home you can also tune into popular movies to be shown on the Ladies Only film festival.

THE Department of Cultural Affairs,Chandigarh Administration has rolled out a three-day cultural extravaganza that started on July 16. The first event is a mushaira that was held at the auditorium of the Museum and Art Gallery,while a Hasya Kavi Sammelan and Sham-e-Qawwali will be organized in Tagore Theatre on July 17 and 18 respectively. Eminent poets including like Bekal Utsahi,Gulzar Delhivi,Dr Waseen Barelvi,Malik Zada Manzoor…will be participating in the mushaira and poets like Ashok Chakrdhar, Survesh Asthana,Hukka Bijnori,Rajendra Rajan promise to have you in splits! Anwar Nizami and Firdosh Shaba will set the stage ablaze with their qawwali performances on July 18. The time for all programmes is 7 pm and entry is free.
