MAD Arts (Jaspal Bhatti Film School) Nanhi Chidiya,an animation film on female foeticide has won the second prize in the 2nd Advantage India,a three-minute film competition organized by 1take media. The film is now being sent to be screened at River Florence Indian Film Festival in Italy. The film has also been selected for film and video (non-competitive) section of the 11th Mumbai International Film Festival,an initiative of the Film Division,Ministry of I & B,Government of India. Scripted by Jaspal Bhatti,the films been directed by Jasraj Bhatti with technical director as Gaurav Garg. Modeling,animation and texturing has been done by MAD Arts students Pankaj,Dinesh,Sukhwinder and Jagan. The film has been dubbed by Jaspal Bhatti,Brijesh Ahuja and Savita Bhatti. Nanhi Chidhiya has already won a certificate of merit at IDPA 2008 Awards in Mumbai. It also won nominations in Chitrakatha 09 at National Institute of Design,Ahmedabad and the Golden Cursor Awards,Mumbai.

VODAFONE Essar has announced new tariff plans which offer substantial reduction in national roaming rates for its prepaid customers. Customers can either opt for the Travel Plan to enjoy a flat rate of 70 per minute for national roaming or the Ticket Plan to enjoy flat national roaming rates of 1.5 per sec. These plans will be valid when customers latch on to the Vodafone network while roaming in India. Prepaid customers can purchase the Travel Plans at Rs 43 and Ticket Plans at Rs 42 from Vodafone retail outlets. These tariff plans carry a validity of 365 days from the date of recharge.

BEYOND Style,a high-end monthly lifestyle magazine was launched in Chandigarh on Monday. Though being printed from the city,the magazines content caters to pan-India sensibilities and would be distributed across the country. The all-colour magazine has been conceived keeping in mind people looking for something substantial to read. With diverse sections including luxurious living,fashion,cinema,theatre,books,interiors,lounging,relationships,art,Bollywood,trend spotting and photography; Beyond Style,in its maiden and all forthcoming issues would lay special emphasis on the arts. The Editor-in-Chief of the newly launched magazine,Sonia Jaiswal,explained,We had conducted elaborate surveys before launching Beyond Style. The research clearly stated that there was a market waiting to be tapped. The team has ascertained that whatever goes in the magazine will find readers around the country. In fact,this is not a regional magazine under any circumstances. Those few who have been interviewed from this region are respected across the country. Our marketing and editorial staff is in place in places like Delhi,Mumbai,Chandigarh,Himachal Pradesh and were looking at other markets too. Sukant Deepak,the editor of the magazine is optimistic that Beyond Style would find its readers. He insists,We have a very fair idea about our target audience. The product is definitely not for the yuppie. The magazines content and design will ensure that high-end readers tastes are catered to in style. In fact everyone in the editorial department has substantial experience in feature writing. Lets see the readers response,after all thats what matters,no?
