Recipe for health
THIS was one lip-smacking event. Tupperware organized ‘Quest for Super Chef Contest Season 2’,a regional level unique cookery contest for women this Thursday. The contest is aimed at bringing out the best of culinary skills amongst its all women sales force by developing innovative healthy recipes. Nominated by the respective distributors of each region,the contestants paired in a team of two and were required to make smart and healthy recipes. Bagging the top spot was ‘Team 3’ from Ludhiana comprising Neera Gupta and Naresh Sharma. The runners-up prize went to Ruby Batra and Rohini Arora from Amritsar. The teams were judged on taste,uniqueness,presentation and effective usage of Tupperware products for preparation,storage and serving of the cooked dishes. Besides this,judges had the liberty to grade the dishes according to the serving size,nutritional value,freshness etc. The time allotted was one hour and contestants had to make a maximum of five dishes within this stipulated time. The menu had to include a starter,drink,main course and a dessert. Judging the Chandigarh contest was Chef Anu Bansal who runs his own property – Intercontinental Hotel and Chef Sameer Dhawan. Speaking on the occasion,Anshu Bagai,Head (Marketing),Tupperware India,remarked,“The Quest for Super Chef is an innovative interactive activity event to encourage and motivate the women to indulge into healthy cooking by developing newer recipes. We plan to bring out a cookery book at a later stage which will have all the best adjudged recipes.”

ITC Limited’s foods division has announced its expansion in the cough lozenges category with the launch of ‘Mint O Gol’,a brand of mint ‘chews’. The new variant is an extension of the mother brand Mint-O. Speaking on the occasion of the launch,Amitabh Kumar,Branch Head,ITC Foods,Chandigarh explained,“The new ‘Minto-O-Gol’ has been launched after months of product and consumer research. We have entered the chews segment with the mint flavour. The mint variant is differentiated from competition by virtue of having specks on the product that enhance the consumer’s experience of freshness. Currently Mentos is the only competitor in this category.” There will soon be a multimedia campaign to support the new launch. The primary packaging for Mint-O-Gol is a pillow pack. Each candy has a net weight of 2.7 gms. The secondary packaging is in the form of a pet jar with 200 candies inside it.
