Usually a visit to a dentist is seen as a dreaded,painful affair but not when it packs in a spa as well! This Wednesday saw the city get its own ‘Dental Spa’ called ‘Toothpik’ in Sector 44.

USUALLY a visit to a dentist is seen as a dreaded,painful affair but not when it packs in a spa as well! This Wednesday saw the city get its own ‘Dental Spa’ called ‘Toothpik’ in Sector 44. Apart from providing regular dental services,this clinic will provide services like aromatherapy,foot and hand massage,music of choice and even eye masks to make you feel at ease. The venture is a brain child of young and dentist Dr Mehak Jain. “The idea behind the whole exercise is to offer unforgettable atmosphere where the client could relax and actually enjoy treatment,” mentions Dr Jain who will also have special pre-bridal packages for would-be brides. “The Dental Spa concept is popular in advanced countries but is totally new for India,particular for Chandigarh,” added Dr Jain. To make a visit to the dentist a wholesome experience,‘Toothpik’ has also introduced goodie bags for children apart from a special kid’s zone.

PEPSI is set to give Kuber Madaan,Pepsi’s ‘First Ball Ka Captain’ winner a chance to bowl the first ceremonial ball to legendary cricketer Dilip Vengsarkar at the ICC World,Twenty20 match in England. The 24-year-old Madaan hails from Mohali and is a shopkeeper by profession. “I am extremely excited to be one of the 16 winners of the contest. Thanks to this promotion,I have not only won a chance to attend an international cricket tournament but also has given a cricket fan like me an opportunity to participate in my favourite game,” remarked Madaan who can’t wait to bowl to Dilip Vengsarkar. The Finale
THE ‘Go Bananas Kids Summer Camp’ ended on Tuesday with the grand finale celebrations. Nearly 100 little ones between the ages 3 to 13 years took part in the three-week workshop held at the British School in Sector 44,Chandigarh. According to Anu Vala,Director,Go Bananas Kids,“The camp agenda packed in a variety of activities that ranged from freestyle Bollywood dancing to theatre for kids and plenty of creative arts. The children were also exposed to social awareness programmes on environment and encouraged to eat healthy.” As far as the grand finale went,the students presented a bouquet of performances including a play ‘The Great Indian Paisa League’. A three-minute short film on child labour,produced by the kids during the film-making workshop was also screened.
