First aid camp inaugurated

Mohali Deputy Commissioner (DC) Varun Roojam on Wednesday inaugurated a First-Aid and Home Nursing camp at the Civil Hospital,Phase 6,Mohali. The camp has been organised by the District Red Cross Society and the St John Ambulance. Roojam said,“Members of Government and Non-Government organisations should also take such training as it is very useful in saving lives in times of disasters and accidents.’ The four-day training was started with a batch of 20 volunteers receiving free training under a Red Cross trainer. Apart from administering first aid in emergency situations,the training will also teach the volunteers to understand the basics of home nursing. Similar training camps for civilians are also being held at other places in Punjab.
