At the Seri Carcosa Hotel in Kuala Lumpur, there are 10 celebrities anxious and excited about their participation in Sony’s new reality show Iss Jungle se Mujhe Bachao. But one among them is a picture of calm and quiet. She makes no effort to make conversation with the rest of her contestants. While others are busy blowing air-kisses,she makes her presence felt with a hello to whoever approaches her.

Dressed in a short, black dress,Fiza is the estranged wife of Haryana’s former deputy CM Chander Mohan,or Chand Mohammed, depending on which side of the law you’re at. But Fiza (who won’t disclose her age,but a former newspaper interview says she’s 37) is the surprise package of the evening. “I was approached for the show long ago but I wasn’t really keen then. When Negarr Khan dropped out last minute, they approached me again,” says Fiza, born and raised as Anuradha Bali until her Islamic nuptials to the already married minister,of her inclusion.

A ‘non-celebrity’ few months ago,her tumultuous life story has made her a household name today. “I was an advocate who led a simple life until all the turmoil happened,” she states recalling the last few months which have changed her course of life. But she is not certain how far she will make it in the show. “I am very shy and reserved by nature. I value my privacy. I don’t know if it will go down well with the rest.”

Fiza’s life has been nothing short of a blockbuster with a number of twists and turns. Fiza had earlier accused Mohammed of betrayal and blackmail after which he divorced her over the phone only to apologise to her a few weeks later. Despite the headlines, she has made the question of her marriage to Chand Mohammed still remains ambiguous. “I am married to him right now, because he apologised in front of the media,” she says adding,“But the apology has raised a lot of questions. With Vidhan Sabha elections around the corner this could be another publicity stunt or a way to get votes through empathy,” feels Fiza who is now thinking twice before she makes her final decision. “My biggest fear is theirs is a political family and they could ruin my life. But I am not the one who is going to be quiet. I have raised my voice once and if need be will raise it again.” As we are talking, she gets emotional about her life. “I was never interested in money or fame. I married Chand when he was a nobody. And what makes me sad is he has forgotten that.”

Despite this, her love for life remains intact. She is still keen to prove her mettle wherever possible. “I may not be raring to go but I am pretty excited about my newfound status on television.”

Her life in the jungle in Sony’s new show will only add to her already adventurous life. “I don’t think anyone else has had such an adventurous life. Everything that happens in my life is all of a sudden. Yesterday not many people knew me,but today everyone wants to talk to me,” she says. A company called Pacific Ocean also approached her to make a movie on her life, featuring her. “They offered me Rs 24 crore, but at that point I had too much to tackle in my life. Now I am definitely considering the offer.”
