Fire in carpet factory

Raw material worth Rs 8 to Rs 10 lakh was destroyed when a fire broke out at the Munish Handloom factory godown in Raipur Rani on Wednesday. The fire was controlled in two hours with the collective effort of the fire brigade and villagers. No casualty was reported. While the exact cause of fire was yet to be ascertained,the possibility of a short circuit was also ruled out as there were no electrical fittings in the godown and small carpets were manufactured manually in the factory. Owner of the factory,Mushtaq,was not present at the spot as he was reportedly away in Panipat for some work. The raw material is said to have arrived at the godown on Tuesday. Two fire tenders were rushed to the spot from Panchkula and Naraingarh.
