Finance secy seeks central deputation

Holding the unenviable post of Principal Secretary (finance and planning) in cash-starved Punjab,Satish Chandra has applied for central deputation this month. Chandra,who was earlier principal secretary health,applied for a central posting after the Centre wrote to the states in August. “The Centre circulates a letter to states twice a year for central deputation. Unless I go now,I will have to forfeit my chance of going on a central deputation,” he said.
