Family refuses to accept watchman’s body

The watchman’s brother said,“After conducting the post mortem in the hospital,the police asked us to take the body but we refused as the police is guilty of the murder of Harnek. Had they taken our complaint seriously,we would have not seen this day. We will only take the body when police first punishes its men for callous investigation.”

Harnekh,a resident of Milkpind Mohali was missing since July 9 and the body was recovered on July 29 from the water tank of the Leisure Valley park in Sector 3 after it was noticed by a person on a morning walk.

Harnek’s family registered a missing complaint on July 9 in the Sector 3 police station and later registered another complaint about Harnek’s abduction but the family allege that the police failed to even visit the the park where he was watchman.

The investigating officer of the case,Arvind Kumar said that they were waiting for the medical report. “The post mortem was conducted today and we are waiting for the medical report. We are yet to register a murder case as the medical report will determine the future course of action,” he said.
