At the centre of the room, the characters of the Mahabharata were catching up Bheem shared a joke with arch-villain Shakuni, while the wise Bhishma was deep in conversation with Kaurava king Dhritrashtra. Near them,Gandhari and Draupadi exchanged notes. This wasnt the Mahabharata gone wrong. Instead, the Chandigarh Adventures Treks and Sports (CATS),an adventure group in the city, celebrated its fifth anniversary with a party where guests came dressed as characters from the epic. Most of us seem to have lost touch with history,so we decided to have a Mahabharata-theme bash, said founder-member Supreet Dhiman. The party,at Hotel Icon, comprised 32 guests including nine children. Each member introduced his or her character to the entire group and their interpersonal relationships using contemporary terminology. Prizes for the best-dressed members were won by DV Bhatia, who was present in the character of Bhishma,Dr Krishan Kapoor, who impersonated Lord Krishna, and Dr Prashant Jain who played Bheem. Nipun Bhatia who came as Dhritrashtra was voted as the best actor while Shivani as Draupadi was declared the best actress.
