Almost a month after DSP Balraj Singh Gill and Monica Kapila were murdered in a farmhouse on the outskirts of the city, investigations into the case seem to be moving at a snail’s pace, with the police yet to make any major breakthrough.

This, when a Special Investigation Team, two separate teams headed by the best men that the district police force has,and a specialist team from Delhi are working on the case.

“The team of experts that had come from Delhi to analyse the mobile phone calls and video footage has returned. They have given us the data, and we are examining some of these phone calls,” said DCP Ashish Chaudhry.

The DCP,however,is not ready to divulge much about the number, nature or location of these phone calls. “We are going through the process but investigation will take time. There is nothing new to add at least for now,” he said.

But things are moving very fast at least on Facebook. A page on DSP Balraj Singh Gill, created by Roger Sidhu, currently has 285 members.

While the majority of these members who belong to the city have recounted their interaction with the slain DSP and his family, they have also expressed their desire to see the DSP’s killers behind bars.
