Rain,river,sea are the different forms of water and it is immensely difficult to generalise when analysing the symbolism of water images in dreams. Vast and deep,the sea is a particularly useful symbol for the enormity of our unplumbed,unconscious emotional depths. Fountains,hosepipes,geysers and so on act as symbol of sexuality and can be seen as metaphors for sexual energy and release.
