Dozen students from Doaba crack exam

Over a dozen students from Doaba cracked the prestigious IIT-JEE entrance exam — six among them coming within the first 1,600 ranks.

Over a dozen students from Doaba cracked the prestigious IIT-JEE entrance exam — six among them coming within the first 1,600 ranks. While Ankit Narang of Swami Sant Das School in Jalandhar bagged the 268th rank,Kamal Kochhar of Innocent Heart secured the 450th rank. Jot Swaroop from Hoshiarpur district came 901. Speaking to The Indian Express Ankit said that he expected to be in the first 300s. Crediting his success to his parents and his Physics teacher Tarun Aggarwal from Knowledge Campus Institute,he said: I want to become a mechanical engineer and have no intention of joining civil services.”

The three others — Sidakpreet,Antriksh Sareen and Naman Arora — secured 927,1321 and 1537 ranks respectively. Kamal’s parents,who are bankers,said that Kamal used to dedicate 10 to 12 hours in a day to prepare for the exam and made it in the very first attempt. After doing his mechanical engineering,Kamal would like to pursue research work,they added.
