The beauty of flowers is manifold when seedlings are planted for mass display. The plants give their best when planted in pots but if the top of the pot is wide,it has a mass effect. See the accompanying picture. The shallow pots can be placed at strategic places in the garden. The same pots with plugged holes can be used for planting aquatic plants. Advantage with this type of culture is that these can be displayed in the dark corners of the garden too,once they are at their best.

I have sown summer radish in my kitchen garden. What are its watering requirements?

The summer radish should be watered at an interval of six to seven days. In all its lifetime,it should be watered six to seven times only.

The planting of a particular type of fruit depends upon the personal choice of the family members. There are about 25 different types of fruit trees that can be planted in this region,so one can choose. Good quality plants can be obtained from Punjab Agricultural University (PAU) or its nurseries located in almost all the districts.

I had sown three zinnia plants in a pot and found one of these dead. What could be the reason? Should I plant a new one now?

The plant may have died due to improper planting or when watered in the early stage. It drowned and rotted. Replace it immediately with a fresh seedling. Try to get one from the same source and of the same type.

As you had once suggested,I had planted dracaena in a water bottle. Now the roots have appeared. Can I transplant it now?
