Double delight for Sumana

A confident Kalyani annexed the junior girls’ title after defeating Garima by 4-2 in the hard-fought final match. After winning the first game,Kalyani lost the next today games to trail 1-2. She made it two-all with a victory in the fourth game. She went on the win the next two more games to clinch the crown. Kalyani won 13-11,8-11,8-11,12-10,11-9,11-9.

In the semi-final matches,Kalyani prevailed over plucky Naina Suri 7-11,12-10,11-8,11-13,11-8,11-9 and Garima had a smooth sailing against Rajeshwari whom she beat 11-8,11-8,11-9,11-3.

Mayank Kapoor of DAV Public School,Sector 8 will face Tarak Roy of New Public School of Sector 18 in the junior boys singles final slated for tomorrow. In the semi-final encounters,Mayank Kapoor just managed to pip Aishwary of Ajit Karam Singh International Public School,Sector 41 10-12,12-10,8-11,11-5,14-12,6-11,11-9 and Tarak Roy ousted Aditya Pandey of Manav Mangal School,Sector 21 by 12-10,11-5,11-6,11-2.
