Himachal Pradesh Chief Minister Prem Kumar Dhumal inaugurated a CT scan machine set up by the Bharat Vikas Parishad at its Charitable Medical Centre in Sector 24 today. The machine has been set up at the cost of Rs 1.5 crore to provide CT scan facilities at a nominal rate to patients.
Addressing the gathering,Dhumal appealed to people to contribute liberally towards philanthropic activities in order to mitigate the sufferings of poor and needy.
He said a fund Chief Ministers Relief Fund had been set up in Himachal Pradesh to extend financial help to the poor and needy people for treatment of cancer,kidney and heart diseases. He further said Rs 23.5 crore had been released from the fund in the past four years. Centre Director Ajay Dutta said around 2,000 clinical tests of different kinds were being conducted daily at the centre.
