Barna is striving to expose the youth of the city to folk music

Famous Rajasthani folk singer Gazi Khan Barna performed at the Chandigarh Heritage Festival at Tagore Theatre,Government Home Science College and Government College,

Sector 46,as part of a Spic Macay initiative on Tuesday. Barna is striving to expose the youth of the city to folk music. Barna sang folk songs such as Kesaria balam and Dum mast kalandar and the poetry of Baba Bulle Shah,besides playing the khartal and dholak. Barna,a resident of Jaisalmer,has worked with Grammy winner Pt Vishwa Mohan Bhatt,Kumar Bose,the late Pt Ravi Shankar and Zubin Mehta.
