From competing for the ‘Amazing Everyday’ picture to staging plays,from DJing to participating in the graffiti contest,Channel [V Nokia Indiafest 2012 at DAV College,Sector 10,will see students putting their best creative foot forward. To be hosted on January 12,the fest comes to Chandigarh after a series in Bengaluru,Chennai,Goa,Kolkata,Guwahati,Pune and Delhi. “This is the second edition of the fest,which is organised with an aim to provide a platform to youngsters who share passion for music,entertainment and art,” says Viral Oza,Director-Marketing,Nokia India. The highlights of the fest are Launchpad — a rock band competition,Blitzkrieg — the treasure hunt,Turing Tables — a DJ-ing contest,Stylize — a fashion show,and a quiz competition. “The Hit Personality contest is expected to garner a good turnout,” says Oza,adding that it requires the participants to woo the audience with their whimsical ramblings or make them laugh with some cretinesque catch phrases. This fest,along with some minifests and zonal competitions held at 240 colleges across India,will culminate at the Indiafest Finale,scheduled on January 28-29 in Goa. “One winner from each centre will get a Nokia Lumia 800 phone,besides getting the title of ‘Nokia Amazing Journo’ to cover the finale in Goa as a student journalist,” adds Oza.
