As per sources, the acquisition took place in 1994 at Maheshpur village in Panchkula district. The court had ordered HUDA to pay the compensation amount till the end of June which it failed to do. On Thursday, following the court orders, shops-cum-offices (SCOs) 61 to 66 in Sector 8 and the HUDA Administrator’s vehicle were attached.
This was the third time this year that the court had ordered attachment of properties of HUDA after they failed to pay the compensation to the farmers. The first order was passed in January and the second in May.
