The police on Wednesday raided a lounge in Sector 8 following information that some minor girls were consuming liquor there. However, police found that none of the girls, who were accompanied by their male friends to celebrate the birthday of one of them, was a minor, even as some of them told the police that they were served liquor.

During investigation,it was revealed that the lounge,Nirvana, had allowed the youths to consume liquor without having a valid license and the police intimated the Excise officials to take necessary action.

The Excise department officials who visited the place, however, said they couldn’t take any action against the lounge as no recovery of liquor was made from the premises. The youths were questioned by the police for nearly three hours and their identities were also checked. Police Commissioner Panchkula-Ambala range,Rajbir Deswal said it was found that the youths who had come to celebrate the party were not at any fault.
