4 cops with Himachal CM Sukhvinder Sukhu’s convoy suspended after video shows them ‘buying liquor, placing it in police vehicle’
Himachal Pradesh Chief Minister Sukhvinder Singh Sukhu was originally scheduled to travel to Delhi by air, but opted for road travel due to inclement weather in Shimla on Friday.

Four police personnel, including a sub-inspector, reportedly deputed on protocol duty with Himachal Pradesh Chief Minister Sukhvinder Singh Sukhu’s cavalcade were suspended Saturday after a viral video purportedly showed them procuring liquor and keeping it in a police vehicle. A departmental probe is also underway.
Gaurav Singh, Superintendent of Police (SP), Solan, issued the orders suspending Sub-Inspector Manoj Kumar and constables Srikant, Manohar Lal, and Rajan Kumar. The video, reportedly shot in Chandigarh on Friday, allegedly showed the policemen purchasing two cartons of liquor.
The SP said, “A video went viral on social media yesterday. Our Cyber Cell examined the footage and identified the four policemen — two from Solan district police and two from the Kolar Police Battalion posted in Solan. In the video, they are seen purchasing liquor cartons in uniform and loading them into a police vehicle. We have suspended them and ordered a departmental inquiry.”
Two of the suspended personnel from Kolar Police Battalion were repatriated from Solan to their native battalion in Sirmaur district.
