While the Congress party has decided not to contest on its symbol in the Panchkula Municipal Corporation elections (PMC),party leaders are actively involved in the election process.

Fourteen of the Congress workers have been finalised for Corporation elections and their list was cleared on Friday by MLA,Panchkula,D K Bansal.

Addressing a press conference on Friday,Bansal said that party leaders will also campaign in favour of the candidates. “On some of the wards, two candidates have come forward and the candidates will be finalised on a consensus,” he said.

Two workers from BJP and INLD also joined the Congress. Bansal said that the party has only decided not to contest on its symbol and this will not prevent the leaders from supporting the candidates during campaigning. “We only decided not to contest on the party symbol. However we cannot restrict the workers from contesting,” he said.
