Cong polls: List of district returning officers out

With the Election Commission of India (ECI) fixing the deadline of July 25 for the Congress to conduct its organisational elections,the Himachal Pradesh Congress Committee has moved a step closer to complete the process for election of the new PCC president and AICC delegates.

Ending a prolonged stalemate,returning officer Rajani Patil released the list of district returning officers (DROs) last week. The DROs will play a crucial role in finalisation of the district-level elections.

Patil has convened the first meeting of DROs at the party office here on June 18.

Party sources said the election to the party president’s post would be completed before mid-July.
