Cong mulls PIL to cancel civic polls

Former Youth Congress chief and ex-Congress MLA Jasbir Singh Dimpa,on Sunday,said the Congress was exploring the option of filing a PIL seeking the cancellation of the Municipal Corporation polls,especially in Amritsar,following comments by BJP MP Navjot Singh Sidhu that “unfair means including hooliganism” had been undertaken by SAD during the polls. “Sidhu has gone on record and we are exploring the option of a PIL. We have been saying that there was large-scale rigging in the polls and Sidhu has vindicated our stand. If the admission is coming Sidhu,it complements our stand and we will take the legal recourse and seek the cancellation of the MC polls,especially in Amritsar,” said Dimpa in a press statement.
