Coldwave,fog engulf region

An intense cold wave,coupled with a thick cover of fog engulfed the entire region,hit the normal life on Sunday as the air,rail and road traffic remained badly affected. Several flights connecting Amritsar to Delhi ran late and so did almost all trains departing from the city. The meteorological department forecast similar weather conditions for the next few days.

Traffic on the roads in Amritsar,Gurdaspur and Tarn Taran moved at snail’s pace,with the thick fog hampering visibility. The buses going to Jalandhar,Gurdaspur,Ludhiana,Chandigarh,Bathinda,Ambala and Delhi were running late,too.
