Munshi Premchand wrote a classic, and students of ITFT,adapted this timeless tale and staged an emotional performance in their play,Phir se Bhaisaheb. An adaptation of Premchands Bare Bhaisaheb, one of his initial writings, the play was directed by Ashu Sharma,Head of Department of Media Studies, and it questions the present day education system. We are marching forward in the 21st century, where the GDP is rising but morals are falling. There are high-rise structures but low character. Is this where our education system is leading us to? questions Ashu. He says the play has been staged to make people realise that our society is not secure with such an education system, where students dont know what they have to do in future. By this play we want the people to act and change the education system that is witnessing increased number of suicides, depression and other psychological problems, chips in actor Sanjeev Atri,as Chakresh, another actor, too agrees. The play tries to amplify the load the students face because of comparison between siblings and relatives and the societal pressure to score good marks.
