The common merit list of students, who had applied for Class XI admissions in the city government schools, will be displayed on the UT Education Department website on Wednesday. This would be followed by a provision list indicating the allotment of school and streams on July 3 at 11 am on the website http://www.chdeducation.gov.in.

The common merit list will be prepared before the “tie-break” on the basis of grades obtained in Class X examination in English,Maths,Social Studies,Science and Language II. Candidates can check their status in the merit list and in case there is any discrepancy or objection,it has to be intimated in writing to the Deputy District Education Officer Dilbagh Singh at GMSSS-10 latest by July 1,1 pm.

The tie-points would be settled at the time of allotment of school and stream. While fee deposition is to be done on July 5 and 6,the department has also fixed a date for second counselling on July 15. A candidate will be admitted in one school and in one stream only. As many as 9,685 admission forms were submitted against the 11,000-odd forms sold for Class XI admissions in 105 city government schools till Friday, the last day. The considerable difference in submission and sale of forms is attributed to several students who secured Grade E in CBSE Class X being rendered ineligible.

According to UT Education department officials, students who secured Grade E had also bought forms, not realising they were not qualified for admission.
