CII releases publication for SC/ST youth

The Confederation of Indian Industry (CII) released Endeavour,a publication that captures the best practices and initiatives taken by CII members on affirmative action for the benefit of SC/ST youth in the North. This edition showcases 20 best practices from the CII member companies. The concept rests on four key pillars of employability,education,employment and entrepreneurship, said Pikender Pal Singh,Regional Director,CII NR.

SOPU stages protest over grading system

Affiliates of the Student Organization of Panjab University (SOPU) Tuesday staged a protest in front of the office of Director,University Institute of Engineering and Technology (UIET),against the grading system. The protest was led by party president Rashpal Hakuwala and campus president Arshnoor Dhillon. The party affiliates said the new grading system,under which all the supplementary exams are taken on odd and even basis,has resulted in a problem as it doesnt allow a sixth-semester student to reappear for exams of third and fifth semester. The management later agreed to give all students a chance to take all pending supplementary exams.

Dhillon appointed as NSUI coordinator

The National Students Union of India (NSUI),one of the outfits on the Panjab University campus,Tuesday said Brinder Singh Dhillon had been appointed as a national coordinator for NSUI .Dhillon will participate in the oath-taking ceremony to be held in New Delhi on Wednesday.
