Chhabra appointed Bansal’s new representative

CHANDIGARH: Former Union Minister and local MP Pawan Kumar Bansal appointed councillor Pardeep Chhabra as his representative to follow up all matters relating to recommendations under MPLAD funds. In a letter to the Deputy Commissioner,Bansal said that the recommendations would be made by him as per the MPLAD guidelines. Chhabra is a former Mayor and is serving his third consecutive term in the MC.

Shivhare director of PU research centre

CHANDIGARH: US Shivhare,chairperson of SS Bhatnagar University Institute of Chemical Engineering & Technology,Panjab University (PU) has been appointed as the Honorary Director of the Energy Research Centre,Panjab University. The post was earlier held by RK Wanchoo.

Training held for technical staff at PGI

CHANDIGARH: An Internal training programme for technical staff for care and maintenance of highly sophisticated digital mobile radiography system was organised in the department of Radiodiagnosis with ‘Hands on Training’ by the Technical Expert Group. Dr N Khandelwal,Head of the Department of Radiodiagnosis said that the programme will promote a proper use and handling of the sophisticated point of care,x-ray equipment in critical patients and minimise breakdown.

MBBS seats increased from 50 to 100 at GMCH

CHANDIGARH: The Medical Council of India (MCI) on July 7,2013 conveyed the approval of the Board of Governors for the increase in MBBS seats from 50 to 100 at Government Medical College and Hospital,Sector 32 with effect from the year 2013-14 under Section 10A of the IMC Act,1956,as amended. The admission process will be completed as per requirements laid down in the Graduate Medical Education Regulations,1997.
