NRI’s house ransacked

LUDHIANA: An NRI’s house in Krishna Nagar was ransacked on Sunday afternoon. Police said that NRI Mukhtiar Singh lives in Australia but had rented out the house to another family. Neeraj,tenant of the house,said he found out about the incident on Sunday afternoon. He claimed to be shocked to see the locks of the house broke open. When he investigated he found that LCD television,silver plates,anklets,jewellery and Rs 20,000 in cash were missing.

Painting exhibition at Haibowal

LUDHIANA: Vijay Kumar (50),a production manager in a biscuits factory,on Sunday organised an exhibition of his paintings,Sadhna,at the Siddh Vinayak Mandir in Haibowal. His paintings focus on various issues like natural calamities,drug abuse,female foeticide among others. Kumar said he adopted painting at an early age of 8 years and since then he has not left his hobby. Asked about his source of inspiration for the same,resident of Shimlapuri said: “I visited Gwalior once and seeing paintings there I got inspired and thought of adopting art. There can be no better place than temple to display your art to maximum people.”

Trader robbed off Rs 3.40 lakh

LUDHIANA: A Ludhiana-based trader was robbed off Rs 3.40 lakh. Deepak Kumar discovered that the bag with money was missing after reaching Delhi on Saturday.
