City folk can now charter flights

Air Chartered Services (ACS) has started the facility of providing chartered flights from the city.

The agency which set up their office recently at the Chandigarh Airport has been receiving maximum queries about chartering flights for religious tours.

The booking for the flights is done at the headquarters in Delhi where the planes are stationed. People who are interested in chartering flights can board the flight from Delhi. For boarding from Chandigarh,the passengers would be required to pay for the time taken to fly from Delhi to Chandigarh.

A representative of the company at the airport said that since the office was set up they have been receiving queries for religious tours. We get around three to four queries everyday especially for tours to Amarnath and Haridwar.

The flights are booked in Delhi. We are offering facility of air ambulances also, said the representative. The cost would depend on the distance being travelled. It is around Rs 55,000 an hour.

For Luxury Superking aircraft the cost will be Rs 70,000 an hour. While for Superking Air 350 the cost is Rs 1.10 lakh an hour. The booking can be done at any time.

The city had witnessed one of the highest number of chartered flights arriving and departing in a day during the World Cup match between India and Pakistan.
