DPI inspects schools
Chandigarh:The Director Public Instruction (Schools) P K Sharma inspected the government schools in the periphery of the city on Tuesday and pointed out several anomalies in the school records and inadequate infrastructure. The schools included Government Senior Secondary School,Dhanas and Government High School,Sarangpur. During inspection discrepancy were noticed and the school heads were directed to do the needful within one month. During the visit at Government Senior Secondary School,Dhanas,the DPI (S) pointed out that the herbal garden and playgrounds were not maintained and there were no register for the topics covered in computer class.

New Canadian consul general of Chandigarh
Chandigarh:The Canadian consulate in Chandigarh got a new consul general on Monday. Scot Slessor has replaced Helen Economo Amudsen,who has completed her three years tenure. Chandigarh consulate general was opened in Chandigarh in November 2003.
