Check if pvt schools have enough parking: HC to DPI

To ensure that snarls do not take place and nothing affects the free flow of traffic outside private schools,the Punjab and Haryana High Court on Friday directed the Director,Public Instructions (DPI) to check whether the private schools of the city have adequate parking space to park vehicles.

The directions were passed Friday during the resumed hearing of a petition concerning implementation of traffic guidelines.

The court was of the opinion that it was also the duty of the Administration to ensure that no inconvenience is caused to the residents of the city on account of parking problems outside private schools.

The court remarked that at the time of the granting of recognition,the Administration ensures that private schools fulfill all of the the norms.

The Director,Public Instructions has also been asked to look into whether the schools are keeping a check on the violations done,if any,by private schools.
