Dance time

Every time a TV show runs out of ideas,it either has a generation leap,a plastic surgery or,as a short-term measure,a song-and-dance sequence for an entire episode. Colors’ Na Aana Is Des Laado opted for Raas Leela, where Jhanvi and Diya transform into Krishna and Radha, respectively. While Vaishnavi Dhanraj, who is a trained dancer, had to don a blue jumpsuit to essay Lord Krishna with proper authenticity,it was the petite Simran Kaur who literally went black and blue. Her heavy attire and jewellery left bruises all over her body. But as they say,no pain no gain, and last heard,Simran was happy with the resulting sequence despite it being uncomfortable.

Queen’s tongue

Apparently, foreigners are still surprised that Indians can speak good English. Recently,on the sets of Jhansi Ki Rani,Kratika Sengar, who plays the title role, was required to deliver a long monologue in English. Her single-take,flawless delivery left the English actors on the sets quite stumped. Actresses Ramola and Katrina told Kratika that they had no idea she could speak the language so well, upon which Kratika informed them that most educated Indians have the same ability. Of course, given our tendency to ‘prepone’ and do things ‘thrice’,rather than ‘three times’,it’s little wonder people around the world aren’t very aware of our mastery over English.

Inspired storytelling
