On the opening day of the Chandigarh Police Week 2013,the department held a meeting with the citys market association,organised a painting competition and staged a street play on road safety.

The event started around 11 am with a meeting held at Traffic Auditorium in Sector 19. Grievances of traders and their suggestions were discussed.

Thereafter,a painting competition and a street play were organised at the Sector 17 Plaza. Around 500 students from various government and private schools took part in the competition. Later,a play was staged to spread awareness on road safety.

The main aim of celebrating Police week is to redress grievances of the public,to bring improvement in the police working and to apprise people about the working of the police,police said.
