Central team in Himachal to evaluate state schemes for PM’s award

Satish Kumar,Director,Ministry of Administrative Reforms,and Dr A Kasturirangan,expert in urban planning from Administrative Staff College of India at Hyderabad,are part of the Central inspection and assessment team.

“The team visited the municipal body in Parwanoo to inspect the economics and working of a collection centre (set up to buy back waste polythene from the public). They later went to the PWD plastic shredding centre at Dharampur and finally inspected the Totu-Jubbarhatti road leading to the Shimla airport to see use of plastic in tarring of road,” said Member Secretary,State Environment Protection and Pollution Control Board,Nagin Nanda.

After an all-department meeting in Shimla on Wednesday,the team will inspect various other sites in Bilaspur and Mandi districts for assessment of the eco-monitoring scheme being implemented in collaboration with schoolchildren and the green audit programme.

E-Samadhan,an online complaint redressal system was launched in 2009 as a direct interface of the public with the government and the chief minister for addressing of personal grievances and complaints related to functioning of government departments. The project under e-governance has done well and has been able to give replies to complaints of people and solve them within the stipulated time.
