The Himachal Pradesh High Court on Wednesday granted a week’s time to Special Investigation Team (SIT) to complete felling of the apple plants in the apple-belt of Shimla as part of a court-ordered drive to clear illegal encroachments on forest land.
In a complete turnaround on the raging controversy between the Army and the Himachal government over the Annandale ground,the state BJP unit on Thursday washed its hands off from the row,claiming that neither had the government formulated any plan for a multi-purpose sports stadium at the site nor had it ever backed a signature campaign for the ground.
The report of the CAG,tabled in the state Assembly on Friday,pointed towards the poor health of the states finances with liabilities exceeding by 46 per cent in the past four years from Rs 18,071 crore in 2006-07 to Rs 26,415 in 2010-11.
New Delhi, Mar 01 (ANI): Speaking on the Himachal Government’s demand for a change in venue of the match between India and Pakistan in the T20 World Cup, Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) secretary Anurag Thakur on Tuesday said sports should be free from every political prejudice. Thakur said the venues of the T20 World Cup matches were decided one year in advance, adding that there is no point of raising an objection now. He emphasised that showing the disability to organise the match between the two nations will definitely tarnish the image of India.
Shimla, Feb 26 (ANI): Talking about the Himachal Government's decision to oppose the India-Pakistan T-20 match in Dharamshala, Chief Minister Virbhadra Singh on Friday said Pakistan never acted against the attacks planned by Pakistan-based terror outfits in the country. He also holding a match in the state would hurt the sentiments of martyrs.
