As the polling for four seats was held in Punjab today,former chief minister Capt Amarinder Singh said the SAD-BJP government in the state will soon fall.
Talking to The Indian Express,Capt said Their days are numbered as the Congress will sweep the LS polls in the state.
He also predicted a split in the Akali Dal soon after the results.
Chairman of the campaign committee of Punjab Congress was in high spirits earlier today as he and his wife came out to cast their votes at the Government College for Women,a little before noon.
He said the Congress is confident that it will win all the four seats where polling was held today.
We have been receiving positive reports from all constituencies that went to polls today. We will oust the Akalis from the state, he said.
Later in the evening,while lauding the role of the Election Commission in checking any rigging during the polls,the former CM was all praise for the Punjab Police in ensuring a fair poll.
While the EC did a good job,I am impressed at the way the state police has handled the situation to ensure that there was no violence and rigging. The job they have done is credible, he said.
When asked why he was not allowed to enter Bathinda Parliamentary constituency today,he said according to a circular by the Election Commission I could not leave his constituency on polling day. I have also been told that Badals also cannot leave Lambi, he said.
