One rank, one pension: SAD ex-servicemen wing to hold protest march Gurjinder Singh Sidhu, president of the Ex-Servicemen Wing of Shiromani Akali Dal,has resented the decision of the Central government to reject the demand of one-rank-one-pension and decided to start a protest march from December 5 to Delhi. Addressing a press conference on Wednesday,he described the announcement made in the Lok Sabha by Defence Minister A K Antony as most unfortunate, adding that the organisation would continue its struggle till their demand was accepted. He said the protest march would start on December 5 from Barnala and terminate at Amar Jawan Jyoti in New Delhi after passing through Bathinda,Muktsar,Faridkot,Ferozepur,Moga,Tarn Taran,Amritsar,Kapurthala,Jalandhar,Ludhiana,Patiala,Ambala,Panipat and Karnal. Engaging private security in the US for CM at state cost not acceptable: Khangura Congress MLA Jassi Khangura has come down heavily on Punjab Chief Minister Parkash Singh Badal for spending state money on his security arrangements in the US,where he has gone in connection with the treatment of his wife who is suffering from cancer. The Punjab CM has every right to procure medical treatment of his wife overseas, but to engage private security at state cost is not acceptable, he said. Khangura said the Badal family had more than sufficient resources to meet the expenses and hence they should not have burdened the state coffers. Though the indicative charges are approximately Rs 20 lakh, the final bill may be much higher, he said.
