Briefly Region : ASI,two others suspended

Superintendent of Police,Sirmour,Rameshwar Thakur on Friday suspended assistant sub-inspector Dharam Singh after he was found drunk on duty.

Nahan: Superintendent of Police,Sirmour,Rameshwar Thakur on Friday suspended assistant sub-inspector Dharam Singh after he was found drunk on duty. Two head constables,Khazan Singh and Dharam Singh of Kala Amb police station were also suspended while another ASI,Parkash Chand,was shifted to the police lines. Earlier,Thakur had conducted raids at two police stations and found the personnel in the drunk condition.

Blood donation camp at Baru sahib

Nahan: The Kalgidhar Trust on Friday organised a blood donation camp at Baru Sahib and collected 475 units of blood from donors – most of them students. Eighty per cent of the donors were girls. The camp was organised after the Trust received a request from the Indira Gandhi Medical College and Hospital,Shimla,for blood so that some pending surgeries could be performed.

78 BJP leaders join Lokhit party

Nahan: Former BJP MLA from Shillai,Jagat Singh Negi,from state general secretary Partap Tomar,from district general secretary Rajinder Singhj Negi along with more than 75 other leaders from Sirmour resigned from BJP and joined the newly floated Himachal Lokhit Party (HLP) on Friday. Talking about their decision to quit the party,Negi and others alleged that BJP leaders were favouring their on relatives while allotting tenders of IPH and PWD.
