DCs and SSPs have been instructed to submit a monthly report.

VB nabs two while accepting bribe

Chandigarh:In two separate cases,Punjab Vigilance Bureau on Thursday nabbed a Powercom junior engineer and revenue kanungo accepting a bribes. Suresh Arora,DGP-cum-Chief Director,Punjab Vigilance Bureau,said Prem Nath,Punjab State Power Corporation Limited junior engineer,was held accepting Rs 10,000 from a complainant for installing a new domestic electric supply connection at his residence. In other case,kanungo Jarnail Singh was arrested while accepting a bribe of Rs 15,000 from a complainant for demarcating his plot at Santoshi Nagar,Jalandhar.

Ludhiana:A two-day Western Command Principals’ Meet being organised by the Golden Arrow Division at Mamdot Hall,Ferozepur Cantt,was inaugurated by the Chief of Staff Western Command on Thursday. Man gets lifer for killing landlord

Amritsar:The Gurdaspur court of Additional Sessions Judge Mohammad Gulzar on Thursday awarded life imprisonment to a resident of Uttar Pradesh for the murder of his landlord in March 2011. Varinder Kumar (22) was alleged to have murdered his landlord Amarjit Singh,a resident of Mamman village in Gurdaspur,following a scuffle over wages.
