Highway robbers gang busted,6 held

CHANDIGARH: The Haryana police on Tuesday arrested six persons and claimed to have busted a gang who used to rob people at gunpoint on the state highways in Jhajjar district and neighbouring areas. The police also recovered two countrymade pistols,ammunition,knives and iron rods and three stolen vehicles. Those arrested included Sanjay (Sonepat) Ajay (Uttar Pradesh) and Bahadurgarh residents Sunil,Mahabir,Devender and Shamsher.

One held for truck drivers murder

CHANDIGARH: With the arrest of one person,the Haryana police on Tuesday claimed to have solved the case of a missing truck driver. The decomposed body of driver Swaran Singh was recovered from a secluded spot along the highway at Bhadson village in Karnal districts Indri on Tuesday. Following this,his helper Gaurav was arrested for murdering the driver for Rs 30,000 and a gold ring.
