The sons of Punjab State Electricity Board Chairman H S Brar,Dapinder Singh and Amaninder Singh,were finally sent to jail today but not before the court came down heavily on the police not handling the case properly.

The two were arrested for beating up a traffic policeman in public on Wednesday. The police,instead of sending them to jail as is mandatory under the law,went soft on the VIP sons and took them to the Guru Gobind Singh Medical College and Hospital for medical check up and got them admitted in the hospital on medical grounds.

When the police produced Dapinder and Amaninder in the court today for a hearing of their bail application,Judicial Magistrate First Class Sangeetpal Singh slammed the police for taking them to the local hospital instead of the jail.

Taking a serious view of the two self-contradictory medical reports of the accused,which were changed in mere three hours to show multiple injuries on the body of one of the accused,the magistrate ordered the civil surgeon to constitute a medical board to conduct their medical check-up and submit a report directly to the court on December 7. The hearing has been postponed till Monday.
