Three days. All Jasraj Singh Bhatti got to make a documentary from scratch was three days. To make the job more challenging,he had to multi-task – I was the producer, director, writer, editor, all in one, tells Bhatti, whose documentary,Jeju and Nature bagged a bronze medal at the prestigious III Delphic games in South Korea. Held from September 9 to 15 at Jeju in South Korea, the event saw 1500 participants from 40 countries. Its an international competition for arts called the Cultural Olympics, tells Jasraj, who found this exposure and experience worth it. I had an interpreter with me,but to work on an idea from scratch in an alien country where language was the biggest barrier was pretty tough, Jasraj recalls how he chose Jeju as his subject and researched on it. South Korea has 3,000 islands, and Jeju is one of the most popular ones with immense natural resources and dormant volcanoes, as Jasraj embarked on this adventurous journey,he stumbled upon little facts like how rich the place was,the development was all eco-friendly,and there was a fine balance between technology and nature. However,I didnt have enough time to edit,so lost out on those points, rues Jasraj, who still feels that comedy is where his forte lies. In the meantime, this was one life-long lesson!
