Buoyed by a brace from LAC Ashok Kumar,Eastern Air Command (EAC) scored an easy 2-0 win over Air Headquarters in a league match of the Air Force football Championship being played at 3 Base Repair Depot (3 BRD) on Tuesday.
The match began on an attacking note as both the teams went all guns blazing in the initial stages of the match. LAC Ashok Kumar opened the account for Eastern Air Command with a cool finish in the 32nd minute of the match.
The second half too saw Eastern Air Command making some attacking moves and their efforts soon paid dividends when LAC Ashok scored his second goal of the match to put the team ahead by 2-0.
Earlier on Monday,Maintenance Command (MC) scored an emphatic 5-1 win over Training Command. LCA PS Rawat scored the first goal for the winning team in the 50th minute before scoring his second goal of the match in the 62nd minute. Sgt. S Singh extended the lead for the Maintenance Command when he scored a field goal in the 64th minute of the match. LAC Kipgen scored the fifth and final goal for the winning team to help the team register an emphatic win.
For the losing team,CPL Manjit Singh scored the solitary goal in the 23rd minute of the match.
